3 minutes | Tuesday, 25 April 2023

As part of its diversity and inclusion strategy a new initiative by Cork Sports Partnership has seen them team up with the Primary Schools Sports Committee to run an event at the Mardyke on April 27th which will be for children in mainstream schools who have a physical disability. This is the first of its kind and next year will see both events taking place on the same day demonstrating true and full inclusion within primary school sports events. The event on Thursday will see children from schools all across Cork take part in races for wheelchairs, visual impairment, hearing impairment, power chairs, cerebral palsy, Congenital Scoliosis, spina bifida, Olliers Disease with roughly 10 races happening on the day. Races will be sprint style races between 60 metres and 100 meters. It’s a free event that is open to the public. It will be kicking off at 10.30 am.
