Make-Up: Concealers

So we can all get stuck in a rut in our staple products. We automatically assume we need a foundation, concealer and powder...have you ever considered what you're actually using the concealer for and whether its the right thing?! If not here's a quick step guide..

1) Liquid Concealers - Liquid concealers are generally the best texture for applying under the eye if you're looking to conceal. The liquid consistency won't cake or set into the paper-thin skin like others! MAC's Mineralised concealer is a great option at €19.00

2) Cream Concealers - Cream concealers have very much become associated with contouring these days! They're usually so easy to blend and can work lovely on the skin. However, at times they tend to get a little oilier so setting with a powder is a must! Example of this would be Crown Brush UK's cream concealer palette €21.00

3) Full Coverage Concealers - I put this in separately so as not to confuse anyone! A full coverage concealer should only be used on specific areas such as blemishes. It is too heavy for a full face application. Typically these come as a cream such as MAC's Studio Finish Concealer, an eyeshadow pot concealer at €19.50

4) Brightening Concealers - These products are probably some of my favourite. When applying concealer to a very dark under eye we tend to go hell for leather to cover it. Sometimes this is just not necessary and using a brightner which usually comes in pen format will brighten the area using less coverage! YSL's Touche Eclat €35.00 is an exact match. 

5) Setting it - So when using concealers, especially the cream consistencies, we need to make sure that we control the potential oil and set it - lightly! We have our coverage on so no need for lots more, opt for a translucent powder instead. Catrice Prep n Fine Powder at €4.49 is a good bargain buy!
