11 Year Old Taken To Hospital After Being Rescued From Water In Youghal

An 11-year-old boy was taken to hospital in Cork after being rescued from the water at Youghal yesterday.
It's understood he fell into the water from the quay.
His younger brother was also saved after getting into difficulty minutes earlier.
They were among a group of swimming in at Nealon’s Quay.
The Irish Examiner reports that two recent retirees from the Youghal lifeboat service were nearby and were alerted.
The Waterford-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue117, was called to the scene, and arrived withing ten minutes.
The boy was airlifted to Cork University Hospital and his condition has been described as "not life-threatening".
