12,000 customers affected by tracker scandal to be compensated by Christmas

Paschal Donohoe described the behaviour of the 11 banks that took customers off the tracker rate as 'disgraceful'
The 5 core banks involved in the scandal have all issued statements this evening on what they plan to do next -
- AIB estimates 4,602 customers are affected on its books.
- Ulster Banks puts the number of its customers affected at 3,500
- Bank of Ireland says it has 4,300 customers moved off trackers
- KBC is still trying to find all those affected and estimates it could be 1,500.
- Permanent TSB puts its figure at 1,971 customers.
Minister Donohoe has announced no fresh sanctions against any bank or banker and has given a December deadline for them to have identified everyone affected.
