13 year old killed following Westmeath crash

A 13-year-old boy has been killed and another teenage boy is in a critical condition in hospital following a crash in Co. Westmeath.
The collision, which has now been referred to GSOC, happened overnight.
An investigation's now underway into the single vehicle crash, which happened in the Lisclougher Great area of Delvin at 2:15am.
A 13-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body has been taken to the mortuary at the Midlands Regional Hospital in Mullingar.
Another teenage boy has also been taken to hospital and is in a critical condition.
Three other teenage boys received non-life threatening injuries.
The scene's currently preserved for a technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information on the crash or who may have dash cam footage to contact them at Mullingar Garda Station.
