Transport Infrastructure Ireland say they're hopeful construction will begin in 2019
It's expected that the highly anticipated upgrade of the Jack Lynch Tunnel/Dunkettle interchange will be put out to tender this year.
Transport Infrastructure Ireland say they're hopeful construction will begin in 2019 on the junction which is now operating beyond capacity.
Every day 100,000 vehicles use the tunnel, which links Cork to Dublin, Waterford and the Southern Ring Road.
