Over 200 Jobs Announced For Cork
There's more good news on the jobs front in Cork this morning.
Multinational pharmaceutical company MSD is to create 330 jobs in its Cork and Carlow manufacturing plants over the next three years.
210 of the new roles will be at the firm's plant at Brinny where €180 million is also being invested in the site.
MSD in Brinny say the new roles are due to the demand for its work on some of the company's most successful treatments for lung cancer, melanoma, hepatitis C and rheumatoid arthritis.
Almost 500 people are employed at the Cork facility and the new roles will include technical, engineering, biochemistry, biology, quality and operations positions.
Speaking to RedFM News Managing Director of MSD Human Health in Ireland Ger Brennan says the investment shows the company's commitment to its future in Cork and across the country:
