22 year old courier jailed for 5 years following €600,000 cannabis haul

Kamil Wlizlo from Poland was caught with the drugs after arriving on the Cork-Roscoff ferry.
Kamil Wlizlo from Poland pleaded guilty to importing €618,000 worth of cannabis herb into the state at Ringaskiddy
Ferry Port in Cork on March 9th 2021.
Customs officers carried out an inspection of his van at the port and after drilling a hole in the panelling, discovered 30.9 kilos of cannabis herb.
Wlizlo was arrested and taken to Togher Garda Station where he told Gardaí he was approached by a gang near Bordeaux who offered to pay him €2,500 to bring some items to Cork.
He initially thought that they were paying him to smuggle cigarettes.
Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin sentenced him to five years in jail, backdated to March 9th last.
