23-Year-Old Man Due In Court In Connection With Armed Robbery In Cork At Weekend

A 23 year old man from the Mahon area is due in court this morning in connection with an armed robbery in Cork at the weekend.
A man armed with a machette burst into a filling station on the Blackrock road at around 5:30pm Sunday evening and threatened staff before fleeing with a tray containing cash from the register.
The staff were not injured during the raid and alerted Gardaí, who arrested a man a short time later.
The man was charged at the Bridewell last night and is due to appear before Cork District Court this morning.
Gardaí have recovered a sum of cash they believe was taken in the raid, while searches are due to resume today for the machete used in the robbery.
