25,000 Bar Staff Returning To Work Today As Pubs And Restaurants Reopen For First Time This Year
They can now serve food and drinks outdoors, as Covid-19 restrictions are eased
Cinemas and theatres can also reopen while people can go to gyms, swimming pools and leisure centres for individual training.
Meanwhile, people can have visitors in their homes from one other household, and up to 25 guests can attend wedding receptions.
Claire Nash, owner of Nash 19 restaurant in Cork, says there are over 2,300 outdoor seats available across the city:
"The City decided to pedestrianise 17 streets. Not all of them have outside dining but there are a lot of permits gone through, a lot of permissions. And, I mean, every one of us... It's a huge number of traders. We've been working, beavering together and independently to just get those permits sorted and get our ability to trade outside going."
