28 reports of Gas Meter tampering in Cork

Gas Networks Ireland have reported 28 cases of gas meter tampering in Cork in the past two years.
The organisation is appealing to people not to tamper with them as they say it could put your life at risk.
According to today's Evening Echo they company has successfully prosecuted people involved in tampering with meters in Cork in the past.
Due to the dangers involved, gas meter tampering is a criminal offence with possible prison sentences and heavy fines up to €5,000 for those found guilty of the crime.
