3 Cork Restaurants Awarded Michelin Star
Three restaurants have been added to the Michelin star list in Ireland - and all three are in Cork!
There are now a total of 16 Michelin star restaurants in Ireland.
The three new additions to the Ireland Michelin guide - all located in Cork - were announced at a ceremony in London this evening.
Ichigo Ichie located in the former Fenn's Quay restaurant in Cork city has received a star after only opening in April of this year. Takashi Miyazaki opened the 25 seater restaurant after the success of his more casual dining restaurant on Barrack Street called Miyazaki. His new restaurant serves a 12 course tasting menu priced at €95.

Also added to the guide is Restaurant Chestnut in Ballydehob which also only opened it's doors in April 2018. Restaurant Chesnut is run by chef Rob Krawczyk and his wife Elaine Fleming in a former pub in the town. The restaurant seats 18 people with it's three course menu for €50 and a tasting menu for €65.

The third star awarded to Cork goes to Mews in Baltimore. Mews is a seasonal restaurant in West Cork and is run by James Ellis and Rob Collender. Head chef Ahmet Dede and sous chef Remi Lachiaille serve up a 14 course tasting menu with ingredients sourced from the locality.
