30% of all fatalities in Ireland are cancer related

Cancer is now the second most common cause of death in the country accounting for 30% of all fatalities in Ireland.

The stark figure was outlined today in City Hall by the National Cancer Registry of Ireland who spoke at the launch of a new cancer prevention action plan for the county. 

The new plan by Cork Cancer Action network aims to prevent and ultimately reduce cancer by working in collaboration with communities to support healthy living and early detection.
