31 Year Old Man Brought Before Special Sitting Of Bandon District Court Charged With Assault Causing Harm
He was charged with assault causing harm to his mother Mary Coughlan at a house, on a dairy farm, in Innishannon, last Friday afternoon

"Gearoid Coughlan who has an address at Ballycoughlan, Innishannon was arrested at shortly before 10 to 3 on Friday afternoon on the Main Street of the town.
Defence Solicitor Plunkett Taaffe asked that his client receive psychiatric assistance and aid for his general welfare while in custody.
He said that Mr Coughlan had been under psychiatric care for some time and was unwell.
He is in receipt of disability benefit and was granted free legal aid.
Mr Coughlan was remanded in custody until next Friday when he will appear again before Bandon District Court.
Mary Coughlan, a retired teacher and mother of four adult children, was rushed to hospital by ambulance, having been found by a relative.
She remains in critical condition in Cork University Hospital.
