39 patients on trolleys today at Cork University Hospital

The figures come from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation.
The INMO have not ruled out calling for ambulances to be diverted to other hospitals instead of Cork University Hospital if the high numbers of patients waiting on trolleys there continues.
It comes as the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation issued a statement yesterday evening to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin calling for the hospital to go off call in a bid to gain control over the overcrowding situation at its Emergency Department.
At that time, Beaumont Hospital had 41 patients waiting on hospital trolleys while today's figures from the union show 39 people on trolleys in Cork University Hospital.
Speaking to RedFM News, Industrial Relations Officer with the INMO Michael Dineen says if the situation worsens, they'll have to consider a similar call for CUH.
