40 new jobs announced for a Cork

US group Innowatts is setting up a new European base here in Cork
The company is looking to hire data architects, data scientists, full stack and dev-op engineers as well as wholesale markets traders, forecasters and risk managers.
The company uses artificial intelligence to provide solutions to electricity providers.
Speaking to RedFM News, Tánaiste Leo Varadakar says the jobs are a vote of confidence in Cork:
"Forty new jobs for Cork, really welcome at this time when the economy is in such difficulty because of the pandemic. A very important investment, a significant one. This is a US company but one that is very much based in the energy data space involved with the green energy revolution, moving towards greater use of renewable energy, and also energy data and smart metres so we use electricity more efficiently. It demonstrates how taking climate action can create jobs and also demonstrates I think that Cork can become a centre for a green energy development in the period ahead."
