44-stone Housebound Bantry Man In Plea For Help

A 44-stone housebound man has opened up about his weight management problem in a plea for a new home. 44-year-old Ritchie Doyle rents a two-bedroom flat about a mile outside Bantry town and has said he is now sleeping on the floor. He has difficulty using the stairs and in particular going downstairs to use the toilet at night. He is appealing to the council for a bungalow so that he can sleep in a bed, and the ulcers on the back of his legs will not be exasperated by having to go up a stairs. Speaking to Cork's RedFM Ritchie- who is on oxygen 24 hours a day - said that a new house will help his quality of life and he will able to tackle his weight:
