45,000 Facebook users in Ireland may have had their data shared

Facebook has admitted that almost 45,000 people in Ireland may have had their data shared with Cambridge Analytica.

It's after the social networking site said a further 37 million people worldwide had had their data compromised.

Technology Editor with the Irish Independent, Adrian Weckler says it's not yet clear how many people have deleted their accounts in the two weeks since the scandal broke.

He says the process to close your account can be quite tricky, so most people don't fully go through with it.
