50 jobs to be axed at Cork branch of Dell-EMC as part of merger

It's emerged that around 50 jobs are to be axed at the Cork branch of technology giant Dell-EMC.

The Irish Examiner reports that the job losses will only affect the existing operations of data storage company EMC, in Ovens.

It's not known what job areas will be directly affected however it's understood that the move is as a result of the overlap of job functions resulting from Dell’s recent takeover of EMC.

The company employs around 5,500 people in Ireland.
