55 Mobile Phones Confiscated In Cork Prison Last Year

55 mobile phones were confiscated from prisoners in Cork prison last year.
The figures released by the Irish Prison Service show the level of contraband flowing through Irish prisons continues to increase despite ongoing efforts to clamp down on the issue.
The Irish Prison service made 1,138 drug seizures and confiscated 962 mobile phones in Irish Prisons last year.
Weapon seizures also increase from 557 in 2017, to 664 last year.
The Irish Examiner reports that prison officers also secured over 750 pints of homemade alcohol, including 107 pints at Cork Prison.
