62 Families Sought Emergency Accommodation in City Last Month

The figure is an increase of 8 families from the previous month and follows the launch of a new initiative aimed at prioritising housing in Cork
The Housing Rights and Reform Alliance was announced on the steps of City Hall yesterday following the arrest of three Cork Housing Action members who occupied the Council Chamber.
The group want City Hall to declare the housing and homeless crisis a national emergency and have also described the €300,000 spent on the We Are Cork brand campaign as an insult to families in social housing whose homes need repairs.
The new alliance of independent candidates is being prepared in advance of the local elections in May and is centered around housing rights, reform and banning the party whip system.
Speaking to RedFM News, Cllr Diarmaid Ó Cadhla says the alliance will focus on public services
