7 Cars Per Day Are Being Seized By Gardaí From Unaccompanied Learner Drivers
New laws came into effect in December
The Clancy Amendment was introduced following a high profile campaign.
It's named in memory of Geraldine and Louise Clancy, a mother and daughter from Kilworth who were killed by an unaccompanied learner driver three years ago.
From December to the end of March, over 700 cars were seized according to the Minister for Justice.
The Irish Independent reports the seizure rate was highest over the Christmas and New Year period.
