A 47% Rise In Driver Waiting Numbers Has Been Recorded in Cork In The Past Five Months

Over 8,000 people Leeside are facing a 25 week wait for a driving test while almost 3,000 have been deemed ineligible because lessons are suspended even for essential workers.
A Cork TD says the Government needs to get a hold on driver waiting numbers in the North Cork and wider Cork area as new figures revealed the list continues to grow.
Speaking to RedFM News Cork TD Sean Sherlock says something has to be done:
"We have a lot of people contacting us in relation to the fact that they are essential workers, but that they need to get driving lessons to progress to the testing stage, and right now there seems to be a massive disconnect between the RSA, and the government in respect of allowing people who are in the essential worker category, who want me to get the lessons but are unable to."
