A Campaign Group Opposed To One Of The Proposed Routes For The M20 Cork-Limerick Motorway Are 'Gearing Up For A Fight'

That's if the 'Navy Route' is selected by planners
Hundreds of people living in the Whitechurch/Blarney area have formed an action group to campaign against the “navy” route for the potential M20 which is now in the public consultation phase.
Concerns have been expressed about the impact the infrastructure would have on many homes in the area, as well as many farmers with further fears of light and noise pollution.
Speaking to RedFM News, Deirdre Hosford of the No to M20 Navy Route Group says there are other viable options that should be explored:
'We feel that the N20, which is the existing Cork to Mallow road which was actually upgraded last year, and there was a lot of work put in to it, should be upgraded to provide the road that they need. We are not against a motorway. We understand that it has to go somewhere. But we feel that there is another viable option there.'
