A combination of accommodation could help revitalise North Main Street

A combination of family units and student accommodation will create a new vibrant community in the heart of the city.

That's according to the Housing Charity Threshold, who has welcomed Cork City Councils plans for reviving North Main Street by targeting several NAMA owned buildings.

The charity says the local authority must plan for housing in order to breath life back into the area which  has seen the departure of many of it's best known retailers such as Dunnes Stores, Molloys and Roman House.
