A Cork Man Whose Home Was Struck By Lightning Says He Was Lucky To Escape With His Life

Terrance Alcock from Cobh was at home with his wife Jacqui and their granddaughter
The lightning struck just before midnight last night.
The bolt caused significant damage to the interior of the house at Foster's Haven, including blowing out power sockets, doors and mirrors, however no one was injured.
Three units of the fire service from Cobh and Midleton attended the scene- they were also tasked to a second report of a lightning strike at a home in the neighbouring Bayview Estate three minutes later.
Speaking on the Neil Prendeville Show on Cork's RedFM, Terrance Alcock, who was watching television when the lightning struck, described the moment the house was hit
