A Cork TD Has Appealed To The Taoiseach To Halt The Planning Application Process At Bessborough

An application has been submitted for the Mother and Baby Home in Blackrock
Cork South-Central TD and Sinn Fein Education Spokesperson Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire yesterday said an investigation of the grounds should be prioritised before the site is repurposed.
Donnchadh Ó Laoghaire says that hundreds of children, and hundreds if not thousands of mothers passed through Bessborough, and that the application process is deeply hurtful to the victims and survivors of the mother and baby home.
When he put this to the Taoiseach in the Dail this afternoon, Micheal Martin said he has reached out to the survivors:
