A dog from West Cork has been branded the luckiest dog alive

Emma Jervis with Bella after the rescue. Picture: Ellen O'Connor. Bella, a Staffordshire terrier is being dubbed the luckiest dog alive after she survived a 150ft fall onto rocks in West Cork. The owners were out walking in Glandore before the weekend when their dog fell from a cliff top onto rocks at Rabbits Cove. The family spent nearly four hours frantically trying to reach and rescue their dog before coastguard volunteers were alerted and swung into action to retrieve the dog. The Coastguard inshore rescue boat was launched from Union Hall and the crew navigated the inlet's rocky mouth to the shoreline where they reached the distraught dog. Incredibly two year old Bella only suffered a broken leg in the fall.. Eileen O'Mahony from the Toe Head and Glandore coastguard unit told the Neil Prendeville Show that they responded as they feared that the dogs owners were putting themselves at risk trying to get to Bella Press Play button above to listen to the audio
