A Garda Operation To Crackdown On Winter Burglaries Has Started
Operation Thor began in 2015
Since then, there has been a drop of 42 percent in the number of burglaries between October and March.
More than two in 5 burglaries take place between 4pm to 9pm, with Thursday, Friday and Saturday the most likely days for a break in.
Gardai recommend people turn on some lights, use timer switches, lock all doors and windows and use an alarm to ward off criminals.
