A judge has denied a request by Britney Spears to remove her father as her conservator
The petition was made by the singer's lawyers months ago.
She's yet to officially file a petition to end the conservatorship completely, following the emotional testimony given by her in court last week.
While leaving Jamie Spears in his role, the judge did appoint a wealth management firm as a co-conservator in charge of the popstar's finances.
Michael McParland QC - a Barrister and California lawyer based in the UK - says the case is highly unusual.
"The battles that have been fought out seem to be battles on the fringes of what the real issue should be which is whether Britney has capacity to manage her own affairs in life and you would expect the court to be presented with evidence to support one version or the other."
