A man has died following an ambulance fire at Naas General Hospital
A male patient has died following an ambulance fire at Naas General Hospital in Co Kildare.
The incident occurred at around 2pm at the entrance to the Accident & Emergency Department.
Gardai say a man who was in the ambulance at the time of the fire was pronounced dead at the scene.
The area has been sealed off for a technical examination.
The HSE say the Emergency department has been temporarily closed following the 'serious incident'.
Both the Gardaí in Naas and the HSE are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the fire.
