A Probe Has Been Launched After A Number Of Fish Were Found Dead Or Dying In The Lough

Inland Fisheries Ireland say they responded to reports of a fish kill at The Lough, with initial investigations suggesting the cause of death to be a fungal or bacterial infection. 

The agency estimates that up to 200 carp have been infected by the outbreak and are calling on anglers to stop all fishing activity at The Lough until further notice. 

Any anglers who have been fishing the iconic lough in the last month are being asked to disinfect their fishing gear to prevent the spreak of disease.
