A status yellow snow and ice warning has been issued for Munster from Thursday morning

Met Éireann is forecasting up to 5 centimetres of snow with more on higher ground.
It adds that this warning is NOT the same weather system as Storm Darcy, which has seen heavy snowfall in parts of the UK.
The warning is also in place for Leinster and Connacht.
Deputy Head of Forecasting with Met Eireann, Joan Blackburn, outlines what's in store:
"As it pushes in over the country it's likely to give a band of sleet and snow for a while as it moves up northwards. It's going to start off in Munster early on Thursday morning and then make its way northwards through Connacht and through the rest of Munster and Leinster during the course of Thursday. Turning to snow for a time, but even by Friday morning, it will have turned back to rain in most of Munster and parts of the west as well."
