Abortion bill passes
The Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill has passed the Dail by 127 votes to 31. The abortion legislation was not without its casualties though. Fine Gael Junior Minister Lucinda Creighton has resigned from her position and the party after voting against the Bill - and Paschal Donohoe has been appointed the new Minister for European Affairs. Lucinda Creighton has ruled out setting up a new political party - and says she needs time to think:
