Abtran Launch Legal Challenge Against Tender Process Which Led to Another Company Being Awarded Contract

The Irish Examiner reports that Blackrock based Abtran claim Irish Water acted unlawfully by allegedly accepting an 'unlawfully low' tender from Capita Customer Solutions Ltd
Abtran claim the €63 million contract awarded to Capita is almost the same as the service they have been providing.
Abtran is the current provider of the service which allows Irish Water customers to contact the utility company about issues relating to their water supply.
The paper reports the Commercial Court heard the legal challenge has resulted in the automatic suspension of the contract, which was due to expire in July, however both sides have been in communication regarding the issue.
