The 44-year-old was brought to Togher Garda Station in Cork where she was questioned.

Gardaí are to prepare a file for the DPP after releasing without charge a Portuguese woman arrested at Cork Airport on Sunday on suspicion of drug trafficking.

She had been on board an Aer Lingus flight on which a Brazilian man died.

The 44-year-old was arrested at Cork airport when Gardaí searched her luggage after she disembarked from the flight from Lisbon and discovered three bags of a white powder substance her luggage.

Tests have confirmed that the contents of these bags were a form of baking powder.

She was questioned about whether she knew a 24-year-old Brazilian John Santos Gurjao when she was brought to Togher Garda Station.

The 24-year-old took ill and died on the same flight from Lisbon.

A post-mortem on Monday confirmed that Mr Santos Gurjao had ingested up to 100 pellets of cocaine.

Gardaí have continued to liaise with the Brazilian embassy regarding the repatriation of Mr Santos Gurjao's body back to his family in Boa Vista in north western Brazil.
