Aer Lingus says it's losing €1m a day

Aer Lingus says it's been losing €1m a day for over a year - and will continue to 'burn' large amounts of cash over the coming months.
It will tell an Oireachtas committee today the recent decision to close its Shannon crew base won't be reversed.
The airline will also criticise the extra restrictions for unvaccinated arrivals from the UK and the US, after July 19th.
Ireland will opt into the EU's digital Covid cert on that date.
Evan Cullen, the president of the Irish Airline Pilots Association, agrees with Aer Lingus.
"We believe it is illogical, the approach of the Irish Government does not make sense either from a scientific point of view, or a commercial point of view or for what's best for Ireland.
"We can have a safe reopening of air travel without the additional restrictions that the Irish government has placed on international travel."
