Alan Shatter calls for the Dáil record to be set straight

The former Justice Minister is seeking the withdrawal of what he says were false claims against him

The former Justice Minister Alan Shatter is demanding Taoiseach Enda Kenny and Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin correct the Dáil record and withdraw what he says were false claims against him.

It's after a Commission of Investigation that looked at claims of alleged garda misconduct cleared Mr Shatter and former Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan of any wrongdoing.

Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald was repeatedly asked today to apologise to Martin Callinan, but declined to do so.
