Alcohol industry rubbishes claims that consumption is rising

The alcohol industry is hitting back at claims about increased spending on alcohol. Yesterday, it emerged that Irish people spent 6.3 billion euro on alcohol last year. But, the Alcohol Beverage Federation of Ireland says that's down to increases in VAT and excise since the budget.
