Alex Salmond steps down

Alex Salmond says he's stepping down as Scotland's first minister - after failing to win the independence referendum. 55 percent of Scots voted NO - whilst 45 percent ticked the YES box. He says "party, parliament and country would benefit from new leadership" - and that he's confident about the future. Mr Salmond will stay in the job until the party's conference in November.   Click PLAY to hear audio
