All non-essential travel to Egypt not advised

The Department of Foreign Affairs is advising against all non-essential travel to Egypt.

US Intelligence and the British Government say a bomb may have brought down a plane in the Sinai desert last Saturday, killing all 224 people on board.

All Irish airlines have been told not to fly in or out of Sharm el Sheikh Airport.

Meanwhile, the British government will hold an emergency Cobra meeting this morning.

The UK's Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond says there are plans in place to get tourists out if necessary.
