Almost 700 People Between 18 And 34 Were Treated For Self-Harm At Cork University Hospital And The Mercy University Hospital Last Year

Statistics show that two-thirds of episodes related to overdoses, with alcohol playing a role in one third of cases
Almost 700 people between the age of 18 and 34 were treated for self-harm at Cork University Hospital and the Mercy University Hospital last year.
New figures from the National Self-Harm Registry show that young people between the age of 18 and 24 are particularly at risk.
Meanwhile there were 40 people under the age of 16 treated at CUH, and a further 13 treated at the Mercy.
