Ambulance Dispatched To Help Cork Toddler Was Stood Down

It's emerged an ambulance that was dispatched to attend the scene of a toddler's fall from a second storey window in East Cork was stood down. Two year old Vakaris Martinaitis fell from an upstairs window at his home in Midleton last week - and died two days later. It's also believed a HSE ambulance may have passed the seriously injured toddler, as he was being rushed to hospital in a neighbour’s car under Garda escort. A HSE investigation is now underway into how the emergency call was managed.
