Ambulance response time questioned Leeside
It follows an incident in the city yesterday.
An elderly rights campaigner in Cork has raised his concerns over ambulance response times after an elderly man had to wait 25 minutes for an ambulance in the city yesterday.
Just last weekend a 14 year old soccer player had to wait more than an hour for an ambulance to respond to Ballyphehane after he was injured during a match.
Yesterday afternoon Paddy O'Brien was on hand at Kent Station when an elderly man from East Cork fell and struck his head.
A passerby made a 999 call at 4.30pm and had to talk the dispatcher through to where the train station is located in the city before the ambulance was finally dispatched.
In the meantime, Paddy O'Brien tended to the patient who was losing a lot of blood but he became concerned when the ambulance still hadn't arrived 20 minutes later.
Speaking to RedFM News Paddy says he put in a second call and he outlined how that conversation played out with the dispatcher.
