The ambulance service in the area was not affected as a result of the row between the two staff members

It's understood that two ambulance staff at the centre of a row which resulted in a paramedic being stranded in Laois were off duty at the time.

According to the Irish Examiner the man was dropped off at a petrol station on Saturday after repeatedly asking the driver to slow down in bad weather.

Another ambulance had to be taken off duty to drive 50 kilometres to pick him up.
