American Tourists Killed in Cork Crash Named

The people who died in yesterday's fatal collision on the Cork-Mallow Road have been named as 62-year-old James Baker from Columbia Indiana, and 57-year-old Peggy Sue Adams from Ohio.
The pair were among three passengers in the car and are believed to be relatives of the driver. The four people were travelling in a rental car when it collided with a truck at around 11 o'clock yesterday morning near the Waterloo turnoff.
The other occupants of the car, the truck driver and the occupant of another car which was involved in the collision by means of secondary impact were all taken to Cork University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
It brings to 109 the total number of people who have lost their lives on Irish roads.
Gardai are continuing to investigate the incident, and are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
