American unions to protest outside the White House today over the proposed Cork/US Air link

They are supporting a new law which could act as a stumbling block to the new route

American unions are to stage a protest outside the White House today in support of a new law which could block the proposed Cork/US Airlink..

It comes as Ireland South MEP Deirdre Clune has moved to reject claims by US Presidential hopeful, Senator Bernie Sanders, that Norwegian Air International
is merely a flag of convenience..

The airline is facing stiff opposition in the US, to it's planned new route, by labour unions, who fear the airline will employ low-paid crew and undermine working conditions for cabin crew working for other transatlantic airlines...

The US Department of Transport consultation process ends on May 16th, with a final decision on the permit due after that..

Speaking to RedFM News Deirdre Clune believes the opposition is stemming from a fear of competition on the route
