The Echo reports that Council officials said Minister of State for Flood Relief Kevin Moran rejected calls for a further review when they were requested to comment on a motion calling for a review of the plans to be carried
The €140 million plan which involves raised quay walls and demountable barriers has been a source of controversy since it was announced.
Campaign group Save Cork City say an independent report they commissioned suggests that a tidal barrier would cost €170 million, however the Office of Public Works say their consultants have costed a barrier at €1.6 billion.
