An Inmate At Cork Prison Has Spent The Night On The Roof Of An Internal Building

The Fire Service were alerted at around 9.30pm and responded to the scene
Prison officers at Cork Prison have been negotiating with an inmate through the night after he climbed onto the roof of an internal building
The Irish Prison Service has confirmed to RedFM News that staff at the prison are currently dealing with the ongoing situation inside the prison involving one prisoner.
It's understood the prisoner climbed onto the roof of an internal building, one of the hub buildings in the prison.
Two units of the city fire service were alerted last night around 9.30pm and were assisting at the scene for a number of hours before returning to base
Prison officers have been engaging with the man trying to persuade him to return to his cell but in the past hour the Prison Service say the situation remains unchanged
