An investigation has been launched into the death of a dog after it was found hanged in Cork

The Staffordshire Bull terrier was found Thursday on the Model Farm Road by a passerby who notified Gardai before cutting the dog down

According to a report in the Irish Examiner it was hanged by it's lead near the entrance of the IDA building. 

The Cork Society to the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals are liaising with Gardai and are looking into see if the dog was microchipped in a bid to trace the owner.
